Travel Opportunities

2023 and beyond with Spanish Club members
International travel to Spanish-speaking destinations has been a memorable experoence for our members since 2016.  Club members take advantage of opportunities for international travel to enhance our understanding and appreciation of the language and culture of the Spanish-speaking world.  In the past our members have visited Spain, the Copper Canyon in Mexico, Playa del Carmen in the Yucatan, Peru and Machu Picchu, Mexico City and its environs, and Oaxaca, Mexico, and various South American countries including Antarctica.  Because of COVID-19, the 2020 trip to Cuba had to be canceled at the last minute.

Now that many activities and venues are reopening, we are considering all opportunities for resuming safe travel so we can enjoy the benefits of travel with our Spanish Club friends.   Conditions are still changing but certainly appear improved!

Eight  members  signed up for a 10 day trip to Costa Rica which departed April 17th, 2023.  It was conducted by Roads Scholar tours and was fun and informative.  We are also considering the Colonial Cities of Mexico tour for the Spring of 2024.  Details of this tour are on the A Closer Look tour company website at https://acloserlooktours.com/mexico-colonial-cities-dates-and-prices/.

To stay informed of future travel opportunities with other club members, simply, click on the appropriate box below corresponding to your travel destination or area of interest and you will be able to add your contact information to that list.  There is no obligation on your part.  Nor is there any on ours either. You can join as many “travel interest groups” as you want.   The purpose of this effort is to develop a list of like-minded travel enthusiasts and to facilitate communication among them without the necessity of in-person meetings.

The Mission of the Spanish Club is to learn the language and appreciate the Hispanic Culture through classes, cultural events, fiestas, and travel.
